The Hill Academy’s Strength and Conditioning program prides itself on establishing sport specific functional workouts that will directly relate to the athlete’s primary sport. Since all sports are played in environments that are active, unpredictable and multidimensional, it is important that our training be designed to emulate this type of environment. The traditional model of static strength training is an outdated way for elite athletes with high expectations to train. In order for an athlete to be effective in his or her chosen sport, they must be able to respond quickly to impulsive movements in a dynamic way.
At The Hill, we place a strong focus on developing explosive movements that will carry over directly to the field while also ensuring to prevent injury. Combined with Yoga, core strengthening and a multi dimensional active stretch, students’ flexibility and range of motion is broadened and reinforced. Our primary goal at The Hill Academy is to develop athletes, not body builders. Students at the Hill will come to know a new form of athleticism and conditioning they have never attained before.
Training modules are intense and fast paced. They are designed this way to simulate game-like conditions; in a game you will rarely have a two minute break and therefore, our training incorporates these sport specific realities. Every exercise that is practiced in a work out is designed with the sole purpose to increase the performance of the athlete in their primary sport. Exercises are designed to involve multiple movements rather than just isolating one muscle group.
Hill Strength training does not just focus on the athlete’s physical development but also places strong emphasis on character development. Athletes are put through intense and rigorous workouts which will push the individual to their limit. Athletes are coached through a team-first mentality to overcome adversity and then individually, to strive to achieve their best possible results on a daily basis. In addition, they are trained to approach their life and their sport in an attitude of unwavering commitment and a belief that anything is possible if they are willing to work hard enough to achieve it. The Hill Academy provides students with the tools to make their dreams a reality.
